In the first quarter of 2022, Veiligheid Voorop will once again start a new year of the Seveso Top Leadership curriculum. The curriculum is a one-year course developed on the initiative of the Regional Safety Networks in the Netherlands.
Seveso Top Leaders are people who are in charge of the operational management of a site where hazardous substances are handled. They are leaders at production companies, chemical warehousing, tank storage companies and logistic service providers. The company locations fall under the European Seveso III Directive and Brzo-legislation.
The aim of the training course is to provide the Seveso Top Leader with the necessary knowledge, expertise and skills to develop into a competent Seveso Top Leader with a good moral compass who can manage the safety risks in such a way that the safety of employees, contractors and local residents is always guaranteed.
The training is done in groups of 12 Seveso Top Leaders. A unique feature of the curriculum is the network of fellow Seveso Top Leaders from the chemical sector with whom they collaborate, share experiences and critically reflect on personal improvement plans. Sharing experiences in dealing with leadership dilemmas on a daily basis is an important component.
