Ageing assets at major hazard chemical sites - The Dutch experience

Ageing, in particular material degradation, is addressed for major hazard chemical sites in the Netherlands. A holistic model describes the complex system of major hazard control and major accidents. Data show the underlying and direct causes of loss of containment accidents due to ageing. Smart maintenance solutions focus on technical innovations in their social context.
