SDN on Tour - Innovation Day March 16, 2023

Find, connect, renew in safety

STRENGTHENING (process) safety NOW and in the FUTURE

Safety Delta Netherlands organizes a series of activities dedicated to working together to improve the (process) safety of Dutch Brzo companies and their chain partners. At the SDN Innovation Day on March 16, 2023, we told you about some of our SDN Innovation projects that will eventually lead to innovative research projects. Participants have an eye for knowledge development and would like to be at the forefront of the development of best practices in safety.

#3 - Risks resulting from the Energy Transition

From the SDN innovation center, five exploratory SDN innovation projects are being conducted to come up with innovations. The outcomes were discussed by the 40 participants in this SDN innovation day. Follow-up projects will be determined based on the explorations.

Datamining4safety: working on definitions, standardizing methodology, and secure ways to exchange data. We also want to develop "use cases" and especially build on pilots already underway (Safety Deal BLIC Vooruit, SDN-VOTOB data mining).

Risks due to digital connectedness.: Develop a methodology to achieve quantitative risk management, including determining cascading effects between digitally connected companies and supply chain partners. We want to collaborate with companies on case studies and do this in the context of NIS-2.

Safety Risks due to Energy Transition.: Spearheads for innovation are production, storage and use of hydrogen-rich energy carriers, with as possible elements: risks in large-scale cracking of ammonia to hydrogen and nitrogen, large-scale ammonia storage, accident scenarios with very large electrolysers, high-pressure storage of hydrogen, environmental effects (increased NOx) by use of hydrogen as fuel.

Dynamic Risk Management: What could be a roadmap to practically and efficiently organize and apply dynamic risk management in the (petro)chemical industry? An example is research on the use of AI / big data in combination with digitized Process Engineering Flow Schemes leading to automated HAZOP studies.

Ethical Fading: To what extent do companies take care to balance individual and organizational interests with respect to making security decisions?

About SDN on Tour

Through SDN on Tour we want to better adapt available knowledge and innovation in process safety to the needs of companies in Dutch industry. We achieve this by visiting your organization, but also by visiting networks and companies.

During our visit we would like to explain which trends and developments in process safety could be of interest to you, now and in the near future. In addition, we would like to hear from you which challenges are currently taking place in your environment, where we can think along with you for a solution without any obligation.

For SDN on Tour, we are still looking for locations to visit. Would you like the SDN to visit your company, organization or network?
Contact us without obligation via info@safetydelta.nl for more information and/or to schedule an appointment.
