Safety Delta Netherlands - Theme 4:
Process Safety - Asset Integrity Management
Find, connect, renew in safety
Process Safety Management and the associated Asset Integrity Management are highly determinant of safety performance. To manage the risk of a process safety incident, expectations are set:
- Asset owners have mapped and documented the process safety risks of existing and new installations. These risks have been reduced to ALARP (As Low As Reasonably Practicable) and risks are regularly reassessed.
- Asset owners take care of the technical integrity of installations during design and construction.
Asset owners have, and keep current:
- Procedures to operate company installations within predefined operational limits.
- Procedures to inspect the technical integrity of these facilities.
- Procedures to maintain these facilities.
- A work permit system that specifies the types of work that must be controlled by a work permit, as well as the permit preparation, issuance, closing and retention requirements set forth in the statutory regulations.
- Documented Management of Change procedure for permanent, temporary and emergency changes.
- Plans for emergency response and a program to test these plans.
